Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 Serial Story/Plot
The Modi family is seen to be heading their way to Surat, to visit Kokila Modi's long lost brother Praful Desai and his family. Gehna works there at the Desai house as a househelper. Gopi learns that her first husband Ahem, who died 5 years ago, was actually alive as Gehna saved him. The Modis retrieve and unite with Ahem, and head back to Rajkot. Eventually due to certain circumstances, Gehna marries Desais' youngest son Anant, becoming their daughter-in-law. Anant's sister-in-law Kanak is jealous of the love Gehna receives by the Desais' and wishes to destroy and extort the family. The story initially focused on how Gehna and Anant stay together and encounter all difficulties posed by Kanak to keep the Desai family united. It also showed how Anant supports Gehna, turning her into a strong independent woman, encouraging her to pursue a law degree. However due to lack of trust, the Desais' misunderstand Gehna, who thus leaves the Desai house to keep her self respect at height. Anant dies in a hideous accident.
